Meet Nikki Schwisow: Trauma & Anxiety Therapy Rooted in Authenticity
Hi, I'm Nikki Schwisow, MSW, LCSW — a licensed therapist and the founder of Evolve Counseling and Coaching. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I've worked with adults who feel lost, overwhelmed, and trapped in lives that don't feel like their own. I've seen firsthand how the weight of other people's expectations, unresolved trauma, and relentless anxiety can leave people feeling disconnected from who they really are. My work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: you deserve to live a life that reflects your values, your needs, and your truth — not the story someone else wrote for you.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, direct, and built for real, lasting change. I don't believe in therapy that just scratches the surface. Instead, I use evidence-based methods — including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and dual processing model of grief — to help clients go beneath the patterns, understand their roots, and make meaningful shifts. I'm not here to simply nod along; I'm here to challenge, guide, and walk alongside you as you do the hard and rewarding work of becoming yourself again. My goal is always to empower you to thrive independently — so that eventually, you won't need ongoing therapy.
I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, life transitions, and the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing and boundary struggles. If you've spent years filtering every word you speak, hiding the real you, or saying "yes" when everything in you wants to say "no" — you're exactly who I had in mind when I built this practice. I offer telehealth therapy to adults across Utah, Ohio, Nebraska, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and New York, making it easier than ever to access support from wherever you are. If you're ready to speak up, break free, and stand strong, I'd love to connect — book a free consultation call and let's take that first step together.
